Kelli and Mike's Disneymoon

Saturday, August 4

Ate breakfast quickly then off to Blizzard Beach by car. They open one hour earlier for resort guest and we took advantage of it. Mike road a couple of big slides then we both enjoyed an empty Cross Country Creek. We went around twice, enduring the cold waterfalls in the cave under Summit Plummet.

We did Melt-Away Bay, but the bobbing waves mixed with some floats made it hard to enjoy. The park was getting crowded with still more people streaming in. We left and split a Roast Beef and Blue Cheese on Ciabatta for lunch with what else! - chocolate cake. Surprisingly our room was made and to make up for no service the last two days mousekeeping left us a towel bunny.

After avoiding the heat of the day we headed back out to Epcot, using the car, for dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco. MO’ROCKIN was playing out side. After taking some video of the belly dancer outside, we enjoyed (at least Michael did) another belly dancer inside.

We ordered two drinks, one was a Marrakesh Express - Rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, topped with dark rum. The other was I think a Sahara Splash - vodka, cranberry juice, midori, and a splash of soda.

Kelli tried
Beef Brewat Roll - Layers of thin pastry stuffed with seasoned minced beef, fried and sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar.
Shish Kebab - grilled tenderloin of beef marinated in Moroccan herbs and spices
Bastilla - Crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla ice cream and sprinkled with toasted almonds.

Michael experimented with
Chicken Bastilla - Baked layers of thin pastry stuffed with minced chicken and almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar.
Night In Casablanca - Roast lamb Meshoui, Chicken Kebab, and seafood bastilla, served with seasoned rice.
Moroccan Symphony - Assorted pastries

The food was good and very different but doesn’t top our list of the best we ate in Disney.

We made our way back to the car and returned to our room to get our fan/water sprayer (it’s hot!). Then to MGM studios to Fantasmic! We brought our canoe seats since the stadium only has benches with no back support. This made waiting for and enjoying the show much more comfortable. While waiting we filled out some postcards. The crowd really got into doing the wave back and forth. Since we were early we got great seats, center stage and close up. This made the show even more enjoyable than previous. You get to see more details in the dark.

Again, late night snacks of chocolate cake.
