7:00 PM at the
Lenoir Nature Center
Botswana is one of the last remaining wild places on earth, and home to 550 species of birds.
Peter Durkin is a Botswana resident, author, master falconer, and tour guide. He will provide an
insightful talk and PowerPoint presentation about the country, the beautiful birds and other fauna,
the National Parks and Game Reserves, including the various species of animals found there.
We will also have a rare glimpse of the rapidly disappearing lifestyle of the San bushman.
Botswana has three distinctive geographical features, each one awe inspiring: the Kalahari Desert, the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, and the Okavango Delta. If you have any interest in visiting Africa. or just want to learn about an amazing natural wonder, come and hear a first hand account of these places.
