Birding Outside of Westchester County
Hudson River Audubon Society of Westchester

Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (JBWR), Queens

One of the top places to bird in NY and is a great location year-round. August is a great time to walk the East Pond for thousands of shorebirds. Spring and fall yield migrants, late fall for hundreds of Snow Geese and tons of other waterfowl. Winter holds ducks and many half-hardies, a great place to start your New Year list off right.

In spring, after a visit to Jamaica Bay, a visit to the Forest Park watering hole can be a great place to find migrants coming for a cool drink mid to late day. (direction from Jamaica Bay are below)
