Birding Beyond Westchester

We live in an area of rich, diverse habitats, even if densely populated. New York City’s Central Park is one of the hottest spots during spring and fall migration. It’s a spot of green in a sea of concrete, a welcome stopover. There are many other places where the bird life is surprisingly rich. Each season has its special attractions. We’ve listed some of our favorite places, with a description of what to expect there. Each place has a link to its eBird hotspot, where you will find a list of birds seen and when, plus excellent directions. Web sites and phone numbers are listed if available.

Happy birding!
